This is a project that will explore the ways Black women cope with depression and other mental illnesses they may be suffering from. This project is aimed to give a voice to Black women who may feel invisible, alone, confused, and frustrated with their relationship with depression. It’s aimed to give a voice to Black women who may have had to learn to cope in healthier ways and also for the women who may have struggled with what they used. Sometimes the things we use to cope become negative vices, and that is okay. I would like this project to be a safe space for Black women, me included, to express themselves and speak freely about their mental illness.
